Kirk Muller joins Blues as assistant coach

The St. Louis Blues confirmed Tuesday that they have hired recently fired Carolina Hurricanes head coach Kirk Muller as an assistant coach on Ken Hitchcock's staff.

The St. Louis Blues are adding former Carolina Hurricanes head coach Kirk Muller to their staff.

The Blues have hired the 48-year-old Muller as an assistant coach.

Muller was recently let go by the Hurricanes after spending parts of three seasons as head coach.

Muller spent 19 seasons in the NHL as a player.

He played for St. Louis head coach Ken Hitchcock in Dallas.
