The Winnipeg Jets have claimed forward Mike Santorelli off waivers from the Florida Panthers.
Santorelli set career highs in 2010-11 with 20 goals and 41 points, but has managed just 11 goals and three assists in the 84 games since then.
The speedy 27-year-old centre was originally drafted by Nashville in the sixth round in 2004.
For his career, he has 33 goals and 25 assists in 198 regular season games with 50 penalty minutes.
The Jets have been outscored 16-5 in losing their last four games. They are still first in the Southeast Division with a modest lead, but Washington has two games in hand and Carolina has played three fewer games.
Winnipeg next plays Thursday in Montreal.
