The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenceman Nicklas Grossman from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2012 second-round pick and a 2013 third-round pick.

The Flyers announced the trade before Thursday's game against Buffalo.

Grossman, a six-foot-four, 230-pound defenceman, has five assists in 52 games this season. He has three goals and 41 points in 333 career NHL games.

The Swede is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The draft picks were previously acquired in separate deals by Philadelphia with Los Angeles and Minnesota, respectively.
