Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane will be back in the lineup Monday night after being a healthy scratch on Saturday, but the team will be without the services of defenceman Dustin Byfuglien for the remainder of the season due to a torn muscle.

Maurice also said the Jets will be without forward Andrew Ladd when they meet the Minnesota Wild Monday night.

Byfuglien left Saturday's game in Toronto with what was described as an upper-body injury.

It wasn't Kane's first time as a healthy scratch. Former coach Claude Noel also benched the left winger. But Kane and Maurice kept the reasons for this one to themselves.

Goaltender Michael Hutchinson is expected to make his NHL debut for the Jets, who have been eliminated from the playoff race.

Winnipeg also called up forward Carl Klingberg from the St. John's IceCaps of the AHL.
