Canucks recall Jordan Schroeder, sign Swedish forward

The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Ludwig Blomstrand to an entry-level contract.

The Vancouver Canucks announced Monday that Jordan Schroeder has once again been recalled from Chicago of the American Hockey League.

Schroeder has two goals and three assists in 22 NHL games this season, with four penalty minutes.

Vancouver selected the five-foot-eight centre 22nd overall in the 2009 NHL draft.

The Canucks also announced the signing of forward Ludwig Blomstrand to an entry-level contract.

The six-foot-one, 198-pound forward has played 44 games this season in Sweden's second-tier Allsevenkan league. He collected eight penalty minutes in 14 games with Djurgardens and 19 points (13 goals, six assists) in 30 games with Almtuna, ranking third in goals.

The Uppsala, Sweden, native was originally selected by Vancouver in the fourth round, 120th overall, in the 2011 NHL draft.
