The surging Montreal Canadiens will be without one of their feistiest players for the next 10 days.
Montreal head coach Michel Therrien told NHL.com Sunday the forward sustained a minor shoulder separation during the team's 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday night. He missed the team's game against the Florida Panthers as a result, also snapping his consecutive games streak at 223.
The 28-year-old, who came over via free agency from the New York Rangers this past off-season, leads the NHL with 81 penalty minutes.
In 25 games with the Canadiens this year, the London, Ont. native has four goals and five assists.
The Canadiens were clinging to the Eastern Conference lead with 36 points as of Sunday afternoon.
