The NHL's general managers have shelved a proposal to allow coaches to challenge goal calls.
Panthers GM Dale Tallon put the item on the agenda, but didn't receive much support from his colleagues.
Florida lost a game in Toronto earlier this season when the referees missed a blatant goaltender interference call, and Tallon wanted to give coaches the ability to challenge similar plays in the future.
"We had a lot of conversation about it but it's a dead issue," said Tallon.
Among the other items discussed Tuesday morning was the league's new rule on head hits.
The GMs gave Colin Campbell and the hockey operations staff their support, and said they're generally happy with how it's being called.
