Vancouver Canucks captain Markus Naslund won't be heading home to Sweden to play hockey after all, according to a report.

The TEAM 1040, a Vancouver all-sports radio station, is reporting because of high tax premiums Naslund has decided not to skate in the Swedish Elite League.

Naslund was expected to play for the Swedish team MoDo along with Canuck teammates Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Niklas Sundstrom of the Montreal Canadiens, and superstar Peter Forsberg of the Colorado Avalanche.

Over 150 NHL players have signed deals to play in European leagues during the NHL lockout. The bulk of those players are European.

Roughly 20 Canadian players are going overseas.
