Defenceman Shaone Morrisonn has agreed to a two-year deal with the Buffalo Sabres, the team announced Monday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Morrisonn, 27, has spent the last five seasons with the Washington Capitals. The Vancouver, B.C., native was among the team's leaders in hits (163) and blocked shots (104) last season.

In 418 career games with Washington and Boston, Morrisonn has 10 goals, 60 assists, 423 penalty minutes and is a plus-36.

Morrisonn was selected in the first round (19th overall) by Boston in the 2001 draft.
