Yes we are live and back at it this afternoon on Hockey Night in Canada Radio (Sirius ch 122), hope you enjoyed the “best of” shows the past couple of days.
Today we’ll be all over the opening day of the World Junior Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic. The U.S dominated Kazakstan earlier today, winning easily 5-1. We’ll talk about their performance with Jeff Sauer, former head coach of the National team, who is doing colour commentary for the USA Hockey online broadcasts of the tournament checks in.
From a Canadian perspective we’ll talk to Tim Wharnsby of the Globe and Mail, moments after the Canada/ Czech Republic game wraps up for a full review of Team Canada’s performance.
We’ll head to California to speak to Drew Remenda to talk about the Sharks game tonight against the Los Angeles Kings and we’ll also touch on the Ryan Clowe’s DUI over the holiday’s.
Tariq Al-Bashir of the Washington Post gets us set for the Caps/Bolts game, or the battle between former first overall picks Vincent Lecavalier and Alexander Ovechkin.
And we’ll pepper the show with your phone calls at 1-877-666-HNIC (4642)

I'm confused! why is john tavares the 13th forward for the world junior team? the guy did break the record for goals scored by a 16 year old and he is still the leading scorer in the OHL after missing 3 weeks of play. yes i know he is the youngster but if the nhl was to pick a team of all-stars do you think crosby, or ovchkin would be sitting on the bench because they're YOUNGSTERS.
