Boudreau earning his Caps
Friday, December 28, 2007 | 12:31 PM ET
Really looking forward to today’s Hockey Night in Canada radio program at 4pm eastern on Sirius ch 122. I’ll be joined by Scott Morrison of HNiC for the full two hours and I can’t wait to speak with our main guest, Bruce Boudreau, who is one of the all time great guys of the game (and if you saw Elliotte Friedman’s Inside Hockey piece klast week you’ll know exactly what I mean). Here’s the rundown…
Boudreau, head coach of the Washington Capitals talks about the team making it official and removing the “interim” tag from his coaching title. As well, we’ll get an update on Alexander Ovechkin, who had to leave yesterday’s Caps/Pens game to get stitches in his leg, and goalie Brent Johnson, who hurt his knee.
Defenceman Drew Doughty of Team Canada talks to us about his squad taking their 2-0 record into game three of the World Junior Tournament against Sweden tomorrow. Doughty, from the Guelph Storm, is one of the top rated prospects for the June entry draft. Speaking of the juniors, our CBC sports reporter Jordan Lester checks in with an update on the tournament.
Peter McNab, analyst for Altitude Sports in Colorado discuss the Joe Sakic hernia surgery which could keep the future hall-of-famer out of the lineup for up to three months. Ouch.
McNab was a longtime Bruin, and we'll have Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe talking about the current edition of the Bruins, who play the Carolina Hurricanes Friday night. We’ll get into the benching of Phil Kessel by B’s head coach Claude Julien in their last game.
