Chris Tanev
- May 22, 2011 4:15 PM |
- By CBC Sports
Vancouver defenceman Chris Tanev played with Steven Stamkos and P.K. Subban when all three were just little guys in the Greater Toronto Area dreaming of making the NHL one day.
All three have arrived at that destination, but Tanev took a longer, tougher road than those two celebrated prospects.
Tanev played collegiately at the Rochester Insitute of Technology and went undrafted.
The 21-year-old rookie howed poise when Vancouver was hit with blue-line injuries, appearing in 29 games for the Canucks.
Tanev made his NHL playoff debut against San Jose in Game 4 of the Western Conference final.
