FIRST STAR: David Perron, F, St. Louis Blues
The third-year forward checked in with his first career NHL hat trick in the Blues' 6-1 win over Vancouver. The 21-year-old native of Sherbrooke, Que., has seven goals in 16 games this season and is on pace to better the 28 goals he scored in his first two seasons combined.
SECOND STAR: Dan Boyle, D, San Jose Sharks
The league's second-leading scorer among defenceman registered a goal and an assist in the Sharks' 4-3 come-from-behind victory against Nashville. Boyle set up teammate Devon Setoguchi for the tying goal and then scored the game-winner with 60 seconds remaining in regulation time.
THIRD STAR: Niklas Backstrom, G, Minnesota Wild
Backstrom notched his 100th NHL victory with a 37-save performance in a 5-2 win in Toronto. The Wild goalie is involved in a three-way race to become Finland's No. 1 netminder at the Olympics with Tampa Bay's Antero Niittymaki and Calgary's Miikka Kirprusoff, who earned his 200th victory in a Flames sweater with a 25-save shutout of Montreal on Tuesday.
