Penguins know how to keep their goalie loose

Play Video: Penguins know how to keep their goalie loose

Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury is a young goaltender with little playoff experience, but Grapes likes the way his teammates treat him like a veteran before the game to loosen him up.

Thank you for giving the Toronto Marlies some recognition. As a fan of the team it's great to see, now maybe rd 3's attendance will increase!!
There are a lot of unsung heroes on the team, Harrison included and it sucks they don't get their shot with the big team.
As well, my condolences to the Staal family. Your piece on them brought a tear to my eye.
Thanks

I know, I know, I'm a wings fan.....but...yes I was extrodinarily suprised and disappointed with the officiating. Compared to the "no whistle" game three...the "mystery call" game four has got my blood up. Don....please restore the faith...tell it like it is...I can not be alone! Since when can officials so obviously change the game. Is it because no one is watching?

By the way, Tigers ticket are only twenty bucks. It IS the economy here in Detroit! Most of us think this is the most explosive Wings team ever...just cant lay down a couple c-notes right now to head to the JOE for one seat and three beers!

I'm very disappointed that you didn't mention the winners of the Telus cup. In case you do not know, they are the Sudbury Nickel Capitals who beat out Winnipeg for the championship. Yesterday many well wishers attended a celebration hosted by the City of Greater Sudbury for the boys. We are very proud of our winners and feel that they deserve a mention on your show. It's not too late. These young hockey players watch your show faithfully. Please don't let them down.

Thanks.

Why are Every Eastern Conference Games on CBC?
The Redwings are an original six Team and we get bumped for Little House on the Mosque. That's pathetic Iam tired of all the excuses everyone is making as to why the Wings are winning. Oh they were banged up. this guy was out of the lineup. Nobody gave a Rats behind that the Wings were banged up last year in the playoffs or even when we were in a slump this year. Give the Rewings some credit . They are playing hard and throwing different players in when we have injuries. We should be on every night they play.I thought it was Hockey night in Canada not Make me laugh night in Canada. Thanks Denny Schneider

I really appreciate the way the AHL is included in the program every now and then. I am a huge Hershey Bears fan and AHL fan in general, and I am always pleased to hear any mention of the AHL. If any Canadian thinks there's no hockey fans in America, you haven't been to Hershey PA.

Don, Don, Don. You will bend but you won't break. You just can't love the Wings for the great team that they are. And it's probably because of their mix... 11 Europeans, 9 Canadians and 3 Americans. But those 9 Canadians, boy, are the kind of kids you absolutely love.

But the point I want to make is that the Red Wings are the Rodney Dangerfield of hockey. I don't have to say it, you know what I mean. And in these playoffs they have dominated. But against Dallas both you and Nick over there at Sportsnet, have given Dallas a bit of a break by saying there out of gas. Could be. But these are the playoffs.

Last year no one gave Detroit a break like that. They battled Calgary for six games, San Jose for six games and Anaheim for six games, without two of their top four defensemen. Anaheim changed the series on a fluke goal, otherwise Detroit could well have been a finalist. But were they out of gas? No Anaheim was just too physical and pounded them into submission.

Well Don, Detroit is one of the toughest teams in the league. Maybe not the toughness you like but, hey, this is the new NHL. And this is a new brand of toughness. So come on Mr. Sour Grapes, give Detroit the recognition it deserves. You are awesome and so are the Red Wings.

So bend a little more until you break and give Detroit its due. If not for the Wings then maybe for those 9 Canadians I know you love so much!

Horace
