Huge Hockey Fans with a Hockey Song, we're Relic's Jetboat from Chilliwack, BC and we will be in Nelson on Saturday, Jan 13 to play a show at the Royal Pub. We had some national attention a few years back during the lockout with our Hockey Protest Song, "Do it for the Game." Look for us in Nelson, we're the ones with the hockey jerseys.

Once again we are holding the popular HDIC Co-ed Rec. Ball Hockey Tournament in Kelowna, B.C. Several years back, you featured our event and a surprise visit by Scott Oake & Kelly Hrudey was definitely a highlight, as I kept it a secret from the tournament participants until they arrived!! As a result of the feature, our little tournament has become a popular fun event!

I'm tying up the skates, throwing them over my stick, slinging my stick n skates over my shoulder, and heading up for some good ol' fashioned pond hockey. Heading up for the bistro dinner to see "The Cup", keeping one eye open for one sharp dressed man known as "Grapes", and making the most of having the festivities in our lovely little mountain town in the Koot's. Thank you CBC, were all looking forward to it.

Thank you for choosing such a great little town. Nelson is a very unique town with alot of great traditions and hockey wealth such as Mike Laughton Sr. who coached me during my minor hockey days and that I would like to say a special hello to (if possible). I am just sending in these comments as I am originally from Nelson and my parents still live there. I am serving in the Canadian Military, posted in Ottawa, Ontario. I will be watching the show all day to see all the people the memories and my past time growing up and playing my minor hockey in Nelson. My great thanks goes out to you CBC for having choosen Nelson it gives me great pride to call Nelson my hometown. Thank you and this Jan 13 2006 Hockey Day will be one I will never forget.

We are the owner's of Chester's House of Cinnamon in Nelson and would love to see Don and Ron (and the rest of the crew) enjoy one of our fresh cinnamon buns...on the house, of course!

I would like to welcome the entire Hockey Day In Canada crew and on air personalities to both my hometown of Nelson, and to my shop/restaurant The Fisherman's Market/The Dock Restaurant. The Dock will be serving up the best seafood chili in Canada for the tail gate party already, and in addition to this we would like to invite you fine folk to come to the market to eat, take a break or talk hockey. The Fisherman's Market is a great venue for you to show Canada a taste of the West Coast.

About Nelson, B.C.

Located in the Selkirk Mountains, on the shore of Kootenay Lake in southeastern British Columbia, the city of Nelson was founded in 1886 and was originally called "Stanley" after Canada's Governor General, Lord Stanley. Nelson's hockey roots reach much further, however, producing great NHL talent including Danny Gare, Pat Price and Greg Adams. The small city was also the hometown of Lester and Frank Patrick, hockey's royal family, whom many credit with creating modern hockey with several innovations including the addition of blue lines, the forward pass, penalty shots and the playoff system.

Nelson's mayor, John Dooley, says "we are absolutely ecstatic that CBC has chosen Nelson to host Hockey Day ... This is a true winter sports community, and hockey is an integral component of culture in Nelson and the surrounding communities. It is wonderful that CBC is taking the initiative to bring their Hockey Day broadcast into rural communities such as Nelson and connecting us with the rest of Canada."
