Registration for a small- to medium-size association for house league would be approximately $200-$250. House league makes up approx. 60 per cent of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association's 111,000 players.

Registration for a larger size association for house league would be approximately $350-$450 (may include banquet, practice ice, uniforms, trophy, picture).

Total house league cost per season (per child) can range from $400-$600.

Total rep cost per season (per child) can range from $2,000 - $6,000 (travel, equipment, variables)

Little known facts about Canadian hockey
  • Canadian Hockey doesn't expect to have any solid numbers on registered hockey players in the country this year until April
  • Last year, however, there were 532,435 registered participants (477, 872 male and 54,563 female). This includes Canadian Hockey-sponsored adult recreation programs
  • Tyke or Initiation was the largest hockey group, with 113,377 people registered last year
  • In female hockey, the largest hockey group is the Peewee age bracket, with 10,509 registered players and 494 teams last year
  • In Ontario, the number of registered female hockey players has skyrocketed. There are almost 24,000 (actually 23,937) more females involved in hockey now than there were 10 years ago
