The Montreal Canadiens have recalled centre Ryan White from the American Hockey League even as their injury situation seems to lighten.

He will join the team in Ottawa for a game Friday night.

Max Pacioretty was feared to be out a month with fractured ribs but was on the ice for practice Thursday. There is no immediate word on whether he will play in Ottawa.

Centre Jeff Halpern, who was shaken up Tuesday night in Buffalo, skated briefly but then left the ice.

Both Pacioretty and Halpern are listed as day to day with upper body injuries.

Michael Cammalleri, who suffered a suspected shoulder injury in Buffalo, was placed on the seven-day injured reserve list and will be out at least until after the all-star break.
