Former NHL star Theoren Fleury says he has filed a criminal complaint against Graham James, his former junior hockey coach.

He says no criminal charges have yet been laid and the Winnipeg police investigation is ongoing.

Fleury alleges he was sexually abused by James when he was a young player.

James pleaded guilty in 1997 to repeatedly sexually assaulting two teenage players between 1984 and 1995.

Fleury says although he has been "under fire from certain members of the press" over his allegations, his priority is to prevent other children from being abused in the future.

He says he won't comment further on the matter until the police investigation is complete.
