The Calgary Flames acquired defenceman Jordan Leopold from Anaheim Mighty Ducks on Tuesday in exchange for forward Andrei Nazarov and a second-round choice in the 2001 NHL draft.

Leopold completed his sophomore year at the University of Minnesota during the 1999-00 season, recording six goals and 18 assists in 39 games.

The native of Golden Valley, Minn., played for the U.S. Team at the 2000 world junior championships scoring a goal and adding two in seven games.

Nazarov, a former first-round choice of San Jose, was traded to Tampa before being shipped to the Flames. He had 10 goals and 22 assists in 76 games last season. In 321 career games, the Russian has recorded 41 goals and 61 assists.
