In the span of two days, the Czech Republic has added two-thirds of a top line for the upcoming world hockey championship.
Nashville Predators forward Martin Erat is the latest NHL player to join the Czech Republic at the tournament beginning May 2 in Halifax and Quebec.
According to the Czech ice hockey federation, the right-winger is likely to join New Jersey Devils forward Patrik Elias on the team's top line. Elias announced his participation in the tournament on Tuesday.
In all, the Czech Republic will have 12 NHL players on its roster when the team faces Denmark in its first game in Quebec City on May 2.
Erat became available to play for his country after the Predators were knocked out of their NHL first-round playoff series by the Detroit Red Wings in six games.
Erat had 23 goals and 34 assists during the regular season and added four more points in the playoffs for the Predators.
