The Vancouver Canucks announced Saturday that big forward Guillaume Desbiens has been recalled from Manitoba in the American Hockey League.
Desbiens, 24, has yet to appear in the NHL.
The six-foot-two, 205-pound right-winger was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2003 NHL entry draft by Atlanta, signing with the Canucks as a free agent this summer.
Desbiens had 21 goals, 26 assists and 158 penalty minutes in 78 games with Manitoba last season. He's played three games with the Moose this season.
With the move it is expected that Daniel Sedin will not be available for Sunday's home game against the Dallas Stars.
Sedin, who is hampered by a foot injury, did not practise Friday or Saturday.
