Vancouver Canucks general manager Mike Gillis made his second trade in as many days with Florida counterpart Dale Tallon, picking up Nathan Paetsch for fellow defenceman Sean Zimmerman.

On Wednesday, Gillis sent tough forward Darcy Hordichuk to the Panthers in exchange for forward Andrew Peters.

Paetsch, 27, had two assists in 21 games last season split between Buffalo and Columbus. The free agent signed a one-year contract with Florida on July 7.

The teams also combined on a five-player deal at this summer's draft, with defenceman Keith Ballard going to Vancouver.

Gillis also added blue-liner Dan Hamhuis, while Willie Mitchell signed a free-agent contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

Zimmerman, 23, has spent the last two seasons with San Antonio in the American Hockey League. He has yet to play an NHL game.
