Restricted free agent forward Andrei Kostitsyn signed a three-year extension with the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.

Kostitsyn, 23, will receive $3.25 million US per season from Montreal, who selected the Belarussian with the 10th overall pick in the 2003 NHL entry draft.

Kostitsyn is coming off a breakout season for Montreal. In 78 games last season, Kostitsyn scored 26 goals with 27 assists (53 points) during the regular season and added five goals and three assists during the playoffs.

The deal also keeps him on the same team as his younger brother, Sergei Kostitsyn, who was drafted by Montreal in the sixth round of the 2005 draft.
