Calgary Flames defenceman Robyn Regehr received some good news Friday —his foot injuryisn't as severe as first thought.

Regehr was examined Friday and diagnosed with a bone bruise and tissue damage in his left foot, according to a Flames spokesman.

Regehr suffered the injury when he took a shot off the foot in the second period of Calgary's 3-2 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.

The team announced following the game that Regehr suffered a fracture. He is now listed as day-to-day.

The Flames, losers of five of their last six games, embark on a six-game road trip starting Sunday in Chicago.
