Defenceman Matt Hunwick will continue wearing the Boston Bruins uniform, thanks to a multiyear contract extension announced Monday.
Hunwick found the net six times and had 21 assists last season, his first in the NHL. His 27 points placed him third among Boston defencemen.
He had his spleen removed shortly after playing in one post-season game. He did not return to the playoffs.
The 24-year-old was a seventh-round draft pick in 2004 and played college hockey at Michigan for four years.
