The Colorado Avalanche acquired forward Darby Hendrickson from the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.

The trade also sees the Avs receive an eighth-round pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft in exchange for a fourth-round pick in 2005.

The 31-year-old Hendrickson, who has split this season between the Wild and the club's AHL affiliate, has one goal in 14 games with Minnesota.

The Toronto Maple Leafs originally picked the University of Minnesota graduate in the forth round of the 1990 draft and has played 498 NHL games with Toronto, the New York Islanders, Vancouver and Minnesota.
