Top-ranked Luke Donald will be among the star-studded field confirmed to play at the RBC Canadian Open.

Donald, the world No. 1, was confirmed Friday to be participating in the event.

He's joined by other notable players such as Ernie Els, Louis Oosthuizen, Anthony Kim, Jim Furyk and Masters champion Charl Schwartzel.

Defending champion Carl Pettersson will also be on hand for the tournament that goes July 21-24 at Vancouver's Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club.

Calgary's Stephen Ames headlines the Canadian players, which also include Mike Weir of Bright's Grove, Ont., David Hearn of Brantford, Ont., Chris Baryla of Vernon, B.C., and rookie Matt McQuillan of Kingston, Ont.
