The Arizona Cardinals have come to terms on a two-year deal with free agent kicker Jay Feely.

Feely connected on 30 of 36 field goal attempts last season for the New York Jets. He has connected on 231 of 283 field goal attempts (81.6 per cent) since entering the league in 2001.

The nine-year NFL veteran spent the last two season with the Jets.

He entered the league after being signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Atlanta Falcons. Feely has also played with the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins.

Neil Rackers has been the Arizona kicker midway through the 2003 season, latching on with the Cardinals after playing in Cincinnati.

“We attempted to sign Neil," coach Ken Whisenhunt told the team website. "We were forced to move on to the next guy when we couldn’t get anything done.”

Rackers set an NFL record with with 40 field goals in 42 attempts in 2005, but has been dogged in recent years by missed kicks in key situations.

The two most notable misses were a 40-yarder late in the fourth in a 2006 loss to Chicago and the past season when he missed a 34-yard attempt late in the fourth quarter that would have put the Cardinals ahead of Green Bay. Arizona would go on to lose the January playoff game 51-45 in overtime.
