The CFL announced the East and West all-star teams Wednesday.
Darian Durant of the Saskatchewan Roughriders is the West quarterback, one of nine players from his team on the squad.
Calvillo threw for 26 touchdowns and just six interceptions, with 4,639 passing yards, during the regular season. Three of his receivers were named to the all-star team: Kerry Watkins, Jamel Richardson and slotback Ben Cahoon.
Montreal running back Avon Cobourne was also chosen, while Damon Duval was named to both the kicker and punter spots. Duval set a CFL record with 242 points.
Alouettes centre Bryan Chiu is among three offensive linemen from the team, with Anwar Stewart leading a Montreal trio of defensive linemen.
At the other end of the spectrum, the lowly Toronto Argonauts were shut out. Some will question the omission of kicker Justin Medlock, essentially Toronto's offence in many games, over Duval, who takes up two spots and benefited from playing on the high-powered Alouettes.
Each made 87 per cent of their field goal attempts, with Medlock accounting for 45 per cent of Toronto's total points.
Durant's breakthrough
Durant was singled out after throwing for 4,348 yards and 24 touchdowns in his first full season as a starter.
The other Riders on offence include receiver Wes Dressler and offensive linemen Gene Makowsky and Jeremy O'Day.
Along with veteran defensive back Lance Frazier, the Riders accounted for four of the West's front seven defensive spots: defensive ends Stevie Baggs and John Chick, and linebackers Tad Kornegay and Sean Lucas.
The West running backs are Calgary's Joffrey Reynolds, the leading CFL rusher for the second straight year, and strong rookie of the year candidate Martell Mallett of the B.C. Lions.
The three leading receivers in the West are represented: Fred Stamps of the Edmonton Eskimos, Jeremaine Copeland of the Stampeders and B.C. veteran Geroy Simon.
Reynolds and Copeland are among eight Calgary players on the squad.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have six players represented, with three from their secondary: Jovon Johnson, Jonathan Hafney and Lenny Walls.
Receiver Arland Bruce, jettisoned by Toronto early in the season, tops a group of four Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Offensive tackle Calvin Armstrong and defensive tackle Dario Romero join Stamps from Edmonton.
