Tickets for this month's CFL playoff game in Regina were quickly snapped up on Wednesday.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be in a playoff game either Nov. 15 or 22.

If the Riders defeat the Calgary Stampeders Saturday in Regina, the Riders will get a bye and will host the western final on Nov. 22 — their first at home since 1976.

If they lose, the playoff game will be the semi-final at Mosaic Stadium on Nov. 15.

Because season ticket holders had first dibs, only about 8,000 tickets were up for grabs Wednesday morning.

Most fans bought tickets online or over the phone, but some lined up overnight in sub-zero temperatures to be ready for the 9 a.m. selloff.

Among them was Spencer Sothmann, who secured his spot in line at about 10 p.m. the night before.

"You know, [I] don't want to miss it," he said.

A few minutes after tickets went on sale, the Riders website was reporting that mainly single seats were left.
