Once a week, CBCsports.ca breaks down the balance of power in the Canadian Football League.

1. MONTREAL ALOUETTES [unchanged]
Overall record: 12-2
Streak: Five wins

Coach Trestman is going to cause heart attacks all over Montreal by keeping pivot Anthony Calvillo in the game even though they've clinched. And AC will be there next game. And the next one.
2. CALGARY STAMPEDERS [unchanged]
Overall record: 8-6
Streak: One loss

Bitten hard by the Larks in Montreal this past weekend, the White Stallions now have a sprint down the western stretch to the finish line with the Roughriders.
3. B.C. LIONS [up from 4]
Overall record: 7-7
Streak: Two wins

Off the trash heap come the Leos, claws sharp and ready for an alley fight. Must protect QB Buck Pierce or all may be lost again.
4. SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS [down from 3]
Overall record: 8-6
Streak: One win

If Toronto pivot Kerry Joseph hadn't gone down, the Riders might well have lost to the Argos. This offence needs to find itself again. And it isn't by switching quarterbacks.
5. WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS [up from 7]
Overall record: 6-8
Streak: Three wins

OK, we're stunned, and all credit to coach Mike Kelly and his staff. But QB Michael Bishop has two personalities and the dark side (the one that overthrows receivers) has tended to pop out at inconvenient times. Still, that's just whining because we wrote these guys off.
6. EDMONTON ESKIMOS [down from 5]
Overall record: 6-8
Streak: Three losses

Now it's a three-way, four game battle for two playoff spots with Hamilton and Winnipeg that never should have been allowed to happen. Eskies have two games left with Toronto. Better take advantage.
7. HAMILTON TIGER-CATS [down from 6]
Overall record: 6-8
Streak: Three losses

Just when these Cats looked ready for Broadway they suffered severe stage fright. Time for young quarterback Quinton Porter to step aside and let veteran performer Kevin Glenn back into the spotlight full time for the rest of the theatre season.
8. TORONTO ARGONAUTS [unchanged]
Overall record: 3-11
Streak: Four losses

So, what do we have on the Argos that's good? The defence, that's what. Wonder if they still let the offence eat with them? Note to the coaching staff: There's a reason why you dress a third string QB.
