Former Charger Chris Mims dead at 38

Police said there didn't appear to be any evidence of foul play in the death of Mims, 38.
Mims recorded 42 sacks in 104 career games, spending seven seasons with San Diego and one with the Washington Redskins. He was a member of San Diego's only Super Bowl team, with the Chargers losing to San Francisco in the 1995 championship.
The six-foot-five, 290-pound lineman retired after failing to catch on with a team in 2000.
He is the second former Charger to die in just over three months. Former safety Terrence Kiel, 27, died in a single-car accident in July.
The Chargers selected Mims, who played his college football at Tennessee, in the first round of the 1992 draft.
Mims registered a career-high 11 sacks during the Chargers' Super Bowl run, but dropped to only two sacks the following year. The team released him in 1997.
Mims was convicted a year later for refusing to take a blood-alcohol test after being pulled over by police for suspicion of drunken driving.
His driver's licence was suspended for a year.
