Trent Green returned to Kansas City in a Miami uniform on Thursday night, a sloppy preseason game won by the Dolphins 11-10.

Green, who spent six seasons with the Chiefs before being traded in May to Miami, played the first two series and was 4-for-7 for 41 yards.

Green, who received a smattering of boos at Arrowhead Stadium, said the whole night seemed weird.

"From travelling into the stadium, to going off to pre-game warmups, to the game, looking across the sideline and seeing a lot of guys I spent a lot of time with the last six years," Green said. "It was definitely different."

The Dolphins targeted Green, 37, after deciding to jettison last year's free agent acquisition Daunte Culpepper. Miami surrendered a fifth-round pick in the deal.

Green threw 118 touchdowns in his time in Kansas City, but in 2006 was mediocre through eight games before a concussion ended his season.

The Dolphins came back late in Thursday's game to win, with Patrick Cobbs rushing in from seven yards for a touchdown and third-string quarterback John Beck sneaking in for the two-point conversion.

Kansas City has scored just one touchdown in two preseason games as coach Herman Edwards tries to determine whether veteran Damon Huard or second-year man Brodie Croyle will get the nod as the season's opening day quarterback.

Huard, who filled in admirably when Green was injured last season, started on Thursday and went 3-for-5 for 26 yards.

Croyle went 6-of-11 for 82 yards and a touchdown and interception.

Former B.C. Lions quarterback Casey Printers was impressive late in the game for the Chiefs. Printers drove his unit all three times he got the ball, but the Chiefs managed just three points.

Running back Derrick Ross fumbled on one drive while another ended with Justin Medlock missing a field goal attempt. Medlock, a rookie from UCLA, went 1-for-3 on the night.

Printers finished 8-of-10 passing for 122 yards. He also ran twice for 17 yards.

Last week, Edwards called Printers "light years" ahead in his progress from last year's preseason, despite the fact the former Lion fumbled near the end zone late in a loss to Cleveland.

Printers was the CFL's Most Outstanding Player in 2004 but was gone after the following season as the Lions opted to go with Dave Dickenson.
