The Edmonton Eskimos will have a familiar face back in the trenches, with veteran offensive lineman Kevin Lefsrud signing with the team after a one-year retirement.

Lefsrud retired after the team's 2005 Grey Cup win, his third championship team in four seasons. The six-year veteran also won with the Eskimos in 2003, a year after celebrating as a member of the Montreal Alouettes, the team that drafted him.

"Kevin is one of the premier linemen in the CFL," Eskimos head coach Danny Maciocia said in a statement. "He's won at every level and brings tremendous leadership to our club."

The six-foot-four 295-pound native of Viking, Alta., was drafted by Montreal in 1999. He won the Vanier Cup with the University of Saskatoon Huskies in 1998.
