The Washington Redskins waived wide receiver Jacquez Green on Tuesday, and signed wideout Justin Skaggs to the active roster.

The 26-year-old Green registered five catches for 94 yards this season.

He averaged 10.2 yards per punt return and collected a 90-yard touchdown return against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.

In five seasons, the Florida product who was a former second-round pick of Tampa Bay, has 162 receptions and has scored seven touchdowns.

He spent his first four seasons with the Buccaneers before signing with the Redskins as a free agent prior to this season.

Last season, Skaggs spent 15 weeks on the team's practice squad before being elevated to the active roster for the final two weeks of the season.

He did not see any game action in 2001, however.

Skaggs will join receivers Rod Gardner, Derrius Thompson, Darnerien McCants, Chris Doering and Willie Jackson on Washington's active roster.

Skaggs is expected to compete for time at wide receiver and kick returner.
