Orlando Franklin goes from Scarborough to the NFL
CBC News' Charlsie Agro gives us a glimpse of the NFLer's childhood in Scarborough
Orlando Franklin's friends and family back home remember him as a goofy kid with big glasses and a big heart.
Little did they know that the gawky kid from Scarborough, Ont., would escape a troubled neighbourhood and end up protecting Peyton Manning from oncoming pass rushers in NFL.
Franklin's Denver Broncos are one win away from reaching the Super Bowl. The 26-year-old will line up at offensive tackle when the Broncos face the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game Sunday.
CBC News reporter Charlsie Agro has the story.
