Mr. Consistent
Terry Vaughn always cracks the 1,000-yard milestone

When it comes to catching passes, nobody in the history of the CFL has been as consistent as Terry Vaughn. Not Allen Pitts, not Darren Flutie, not Ray Elgaard or Don Narcisse.

Back in 1995 the Calgary Stampeders rookie hauled in 72 passes for 1,031 yards. For the next three seasons with the Stamps and then the next four with the Edmonton Eskimos, Vaughn continued to pile up the yards, setting the record this year for most consecutive seasons with more than 1,000 yards in receiving.

Both Pitts and Flutie passed the magic 1,000 mark nine times, but not consecutively, while Elgaard and Narcisse reached the milestone eight times, but again, not in a row.

Vaughn's record is a testament to his durability, especially when you consider that many of his catches come in the middle of the field. In 2002, the seven-time West division all-star hauled in 94 passes for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns.

During his four seasons in Calgary Vaughn was a key part of the Stampeders high-powered offence and won a Grey Cup there in 1998. But, with the likes of Pitts and Vince Danielsen also catching passes in Calgary, Vaughn knew he wasn't going to get the chance to be the No. 1 target and signed with the Eskimos in 1999.

The move paid off for Vaughn. While he never caught more than 81 passes with the Stamps, he has topped the 90-reception mark three straight years in Edmonton.
