Grey Cup
Nov. 26, 2000
Final
Score:
British Columbia Lions 28, Montreal Alouettes 26
Attendance:
43,822 at McMahon Stadium, Calgary
The 2000 Grey Cup remains memorable for two reasons.
It was the first Grey Cup won by a team with a losing record
in regular-season play (B.C. at 8-10).

Lui
Passaglia kicks the final field goal of his career
And
it brought to a close the longest career in CFL history, the
25-year tenure of legendary Lions kicker Lui Passaglia.
Fittingly, Passaglia provided a storybook finish with a decisive
29-yard field goal and 85 seconds left on the clock.
But BC had to hold its collective breath before celebrating
as Montreal marched right back for a touchdown with 44 seconds
remaining.
Clinging to a 28-26 lead, the Lions foiled a two-point conversion
attempt and recovered the ensuing onside kick to clinch the
Cup.
Robert Drummond was named Most Valuable Player and Sean Millington
Most Valuable Canadian.
