It didn't take long for import defensive back James Patrick to catch on with a new CFL team.
The former CFL all-star signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday, a few days after being released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The five-foot-11, 188-pound native of Tuskegee, Ala., recorded 227 defensive tackles, 18 interceptions and five fumble recoveries over five seasons with Saskatchewan.
"As a former all-star, James is a proven player in the CFL and will be a welcome addition to our secondary," Ticats general manager Kent Austin said in a release.
Patrick's all-star season came in 2010, when he led the league with nine interceptions. He recorded 48 tackles last season.
