The Toronto Argonauts signed running back Anthony Woodson to a contract extension Wednesday.

Toronto acquired Woodson, an Ottawa native who grew up in Calgary, last September from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The six-foot, 215-pound Woodson had just four carries for two yards with the Argos.

Toronto also signed import running backs Tristan Davis and Jeremiah Johnson.

Davis signed as a free agent in '09 with the Detroit Lions and also spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Washington Redskins.

Johnson played collegiately at Oregon and spent time in the NFL with the Houston Texans, Washington and Denver Broncos.
