The Toronto Argonauts announced that they re-signed Andre Talbot to a long-term contract on Friday.

The deal with the Toronto-born receiver runs through the 2009 season.

"We are extremely pleased to have Andre signed and back as a Toronto Argonaut," said Argos offensive coordinator Kent Austin.

"Through his hard work and dedication, Andre has become an outstanding receiver in this league and he will continue to play an integral role in our offence."

A product of Wilfrid Laurier University, Talbot finished the 2005 CFL season with 48 receptions for 679 yards, both career highs, and added two touchdowns.

Talbot also posted two 100-plus yard receiving games.

"It's great to commit long-term to the organization that I grew up watching and to the city that I love," Talbot said. "I wouldn't want to play with any other receiving corps or with any other quarterback in the league. I look forward to capturing many more Grey Cup Championships for the Double Blue."
