This is your chance to name a show jumper! Hannoverian breeders have done an excellent job in developing a superior breed in the Hannoverian for over 250 years. That is why Spruce Meadows has chosen the Hannoverian Warmblood for their breeding program.
These foals have so much potential ... but what they do not have yet ... is a name! That is where we need your help. From now until July 31, 2012 we encourage visitors to our website to help us in choosing a name for our newborns.
Spruce Meadows, along with CN and Sun Media, is pleased to present our Name the Foal Contest. It is a tradition that has become a fan favourite at Spruce Meadows, with literally thousands of great ideas coming in from thousands of great people. People of all ages join in on the fun in the hopes that that name they choose for their favourite colt or filly will carry the young horse to greatness! To enter, all you have to do is complete the contest form with your name selections for our three foals! You are welcome to enter as often as you would like!
This filly was the very first foal born at Spruce Meadows this year. With her long eyelashes, chestnut coat and long white marking on her forehead, she is graceful and quite photogenic!
Her dam (mother) is Greta, and she is a protective mama who keeps a close eye on her baby. Her sire (father) is Le Primeur.
Foal #2 is inquisitive and independent little filly! Her dam (mother) Skyline is a lenient parent who is often seen trying to keep up with this spirited foal.
Confident and playful, this foal has a fine bay coat and a white blaze. Her sire (father) is Le Primeur.
The youngest addition to the Spruce Meadows family is a bay colt with a diamond over his eye and large snip on his nose! He is not quite “out of the nursery” yet and his dam (mother) Goldika is quite attached. Strong and curious, he is certain to grow up to be a handsome fellow. His sire (father) is Le Primeur.
