Alexandre Despatie announced his retirement from diving on Tuesday, closing the door on a 14-year-career that included Olympic medals, world championships and world records.

The 27-year-old from Laval, Que., will be remembered as one of Canada's most successful athletes, climbing the podium at the Olympics, world championships, Pan-Am Games and Commonwealth Games.
