"It was my first 'big' games -- the first time it was all different sports and you got to interact with people involved in different sports. It was cool -- they had an opening and closing ceremonies. That was a little different from what I was used to, which was going to nationals where it was only boxers.

I was extremely nervous, it was my first time with TV exposure. I was competing for Ontario, with a whole group of teammate from other sports.

That was probably the thing that got me most prepared for the Commonwealth Games or an Olympic Games -- I was 16 or 17 at the time, so it was big for me."
