"I just remember it was a great time. It was my first experience with a multi-sport event. It was a lot of fun...

"It was a great competition for me I performed really well It was a close competition between us (Ont.) and Quebec. It was good opening event for someone of my age. I remember the crowds were phenomenal. It was my first time being in front of a large crowd where they were cheering and supporting the teams. It was just a great builder for going to international events that I did I few years afterward.

"It gave you that kickstart knowing how to compete in international competition.

"It was a lot of fun...Chicoutami is such a warm place in terms of the people."
