Eve Muirhead of Great Britain captured the inaugural Three Nations Cup women's curling event with a 9-3 victory over Stefanie Lawton of Saskatoon in Sunday's final.
The tournament was held in conjunction with the men's Grey Power World Cup of Curling at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ont., where Glenn Howard beat Kevin Koe in the title game Sunday.
The women's final was tied at 2-2 when Muirhead took control in the fifth end. With the Scot already sitting one, Lawton tried for a double but accidentally chipped out her own rock, allowing Muirhead to grab a steal of two.
"All I had to do was tap it back," said Lawton. "I obviously threw it a little heavy and it ran there a little bit."
Muirhead put the game away in the seventh, scoring five points.
Muirhead, who finished with a 3-1 record, earned $2,000 for the victory while Lawton (2-2) took home $1,500.
In the consolation match of the four-team event, Shannon Kleibrink of Calgary earned her first victory by defeating reigning world champion Bingyu Wang of China 6-3.
Kleibrink finished the tournament with a 1-3 mark, while Wang's loss evened her record at 2-2.
