The women's final at curling's Player's Championship in St. John's is now set.

With semifinal wins in the morning draw, Amber Holland's rink from Kronau, Sask., and Krista McCarville's rink from Thunder Bay, Ont., will meet in Saturday afternoon's final (3 p.m. ET, CBC, CBCSports.ca).

Trailing 4-3 going into the eighth end, Holland rallied for a late three to earn the comeback win over Montreal's Eve Bélisle.

McCarville's win was much more comfortable, seizing a 3-2 lead in the third end and never looking back en route to a 7-2 triumph over Cheryl Bernard of Calgary.

Men's seeds continue to fall

In Saturday's early morning action on the men's side, the final three quarter-final qualifiers were determined in the C-Event.

Kerry Burtnyk's Winnipeg rink needed an extra end but managed to outlast Halifax's Sean Adams 6-5, knocking him out of the tournament.

Local favourite Brad Gushue also saw his tournament come to an end after he dropped a 6-5 decision to Greg McAuley's rink from Richmond, B.C.

Randy Ferbey also earned one of the final quarter-final berths, as his rink from Edmonton downed Mike McEwen's team out of Winnipeg, 5-3.

All of Canada's top-ranked rinks are taking part in the eighth and final leg of this Grand Slam of Curling event.

The field boasts some of the best curling talent in the country and seeds 16 teams in each of the men's and women's events based on their standings in the Canadian Team Ranking System as of March 17.
