The first clash of the season between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens will draw thousands of excited hockey fans to the Bell Centre on Saturday night, and a live CBC concert will get the party started.
As
Hockey Night in Canada welcomes its 60th season, hockey fans in Montreal will get a special treat with an outdoor celebration featuring Canadian rock band Simple Plan.
This exclusive musical event is free and will get started at 5:45 p.m. ET on Saturday just outside the Bell Centre.
The duo of
Daryn Jones and
Rebecca Makonnen will be on stage to host the festivities. Fans around the country will get to see parts of the concert during
Scotiabank Hockey Tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBC Television.
Montreal won't be the only city getting a special visit from the
Hockey Night in Canada team. There will also be on-site fan activities at the Vancouver and Winnipeg games.
