Canada claims 3 gold medals at Pan Am Gymnastics Championships
Canadians also win 2 silver
Canada's trampoline team is one step closer to being ready for the 2015 Pan American Games next summer in Toronto.
The Canadian squad soared to gold and silver in both men's and women's individual trampoline and picked up another gold in the women's synchro event on Monday at the Pan American Gymnastics Championships.
Olympic champion Rosie MacLennan claimed the women's title with a score of 53.945 points while teammate Samantha Sendel won the silver medal with 51.680.
Camilla Gomes of Brazil took the bronze with a score of 51.335.
"The excitement is starting to build to the Pan Am Games for sure," said Sendel.
In the women's synchro final, MacLennan of Toronto and Sendel of Aurora, Ont., added another gold to the Canadian medal haul.
In the men's final, 2008 Olympic silver medallist Jason Burnett of Toronto won gold with 58.660 points and Keegan Soehn of Red Deer, Alta., took the silver with 57.390.
Logan Dooley of the United States, earned the bronze with 55.515 points.
With spots at the 2015 Pan Am Games on the line at the championships, the Canadian team secured the maximum of two men and two women for the competition next summer.
