Gushue reflects on loss

It's still too early for Brad Gushue to tell what his elimination from the 2010 Brier means for his team's future.

But he knows what he's doing Saturday night.

"Five minutes after losing I don't know what I'm going to be doing for the next four years," Gushue said.

"I'm probably going to get drunk tonight. Probably going to razz the guys pretty good, and they're probably going to give it to me pretty good."

He expects to sit down with his teammates to discuss their future in the coming weeks.

But there's no question in his mind that he wants to continue chasing another Olympic gold to match the one he already has from 2006.

"I love the game too much to give it up. I don't want to play at a half-assed level. If all four of us are able to do it and continue to have support from families and sponsors, then we'll do it."

The 29-year-old skip quickly became a fan favourite in Halifax, especially after it was clear that the hometown team was nowhere near contention.

Gushue was critical of his team's play for the entire tournament, saying they lacked the consistency to compete at a high level.
